Drug addiction has become an epidemic in this country. Drugs are easily
obtained through drug dealers, drug using friends, or a doctor/pharmacy.
Most find doing drugs as just innocent partying at first, because, in
the beginning you can only feel its pleasure-sum effects. Drug addiction
is insidious and the drug-taker doesn't even realize the troubles
that await head. Often by the time a drug-user sees that abusing an addictive
substance wasn't wise, chemical dependence has already set-in
and professional addiction treatment help is needed to sober up. As
acid burns a hole through metal so an addictive drug hooks the person
who tries it enough times. No matter how strong you think you are drugs
can destroy your life.
Drug
addiction is very cunning and baffling, because lets not forget drug addicts
do not setout to become chemically dependent on drugs or alcohol, its a
slow and deceiving progression; at first the drugs seem to help a situation
or be fun, often most problems seem irrelevant, stress is reduced, and worries
fade, and even responsibilities that once seemed a hassle are take in stride.
Unfortunately, these perceived benefits often are the appeal and the ultimate
downfall of the drug user. Consequently, if he or she does not quickly discontinue
taking drugs or boozing.
Drug addiction is a progressive malady which commonly worsens slowly and usually
clueless are its victims. Tolerance of many drugs increases swiftly, thus, the
drug user inevitably needs more of the drugs to compensate for the lack of desirable
effects. If regular use continues sooner or later these 3 stages of drug use,
drug abuse, and ultimately drug addiction will play out. |
